Ice OnStorm

About

One table in the weather

Ice On Storm exists because somebody kept asking a stubborn question: what would a social casino look like if it only did one thing, and did it properly?

We are a small independent studio that builds free-to-play social casino games, and Ice On Storm is the narrowest thing we have ever shipped. There is a single game on this site. It is blackjack, it is called Whiteout Twenty-One, and it runs on virtual coins that are given away rather than sold. That is the whole product, and we are fairly proud of how little there is.

The decision came out of frustration. Social casino apps tend to sprawl — dozens of near-identical titles, a store bolted to every screen, a constant low hum of things asking for attention. Somewhere in that noise the actual game gets lost. So we cut the catalogue down to one, gave that one a proper shuffled deck and a dealer rule you can read in a single sentence, and spent our time on how the hand feels instead of how many hands there are.

Where the name comes from

Blackjack has a particular texture to it: the moment before you decide whether to take another card is quiet, and then it very suddenly is not. That felt like weather to us — specifically the instant a squall closes in and the view goes white, when you are committed to whichever direction you were already walking. The whole visual language of this site grew out of that image: wind-driven lines, pale drifting greys, a thin line of cold cyan cutting across it.

The name is atmospheric, not athletic. There is no sport here, no league, no team. Just the storm.

What we are, legally and plainly

Ice On Storm is a social gaming site for entertainment. It is not a gambling operator and does not hold itself out as one. Nothing on this site can be wagered for money, nothing here can be purchased, and the coins in your balance carry no monetary value of any kind — they cannot be cashed out, traded, or converted into goods, credit, or prizes. When your browser tab closes, the balance simply stops existing.

Access is restricted to adults aged eighteen and over. We ask that anyone below that age does not play, and we design every part of the site — artwork, copy, and tone — to hold no appeal for minors.

How we build

Everything here is hand-written: plain HTML, plain CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, with no tracking pixels stitched into the pages and no advertising network deciding what you see. The blackjack engine runs entirely in your browser, which means the deck, the shuffle, and the scoring all happen on your own machine. Nothing about your play is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

We keep the site deliberately small so that it stays fast on a poor connection and legible on a small screen. If something here feels slow, cluttered, or unclear, that is a bug and we would like to hear about it — the Support page is the way through.

The commitment

We will not add a store. We will not add a currency you can buy. We will not introduce mechanics designed to make stopping feel like losing something. If Ice On Storm ever changes hands or changes direction, that will be stated openly on this page rather than quietly folded into a terms update.

Until then: one table, free coins, and a storm that does not let up. Go and play a hand.
